Women in Tech NI Promotional Challenge Day

Students taking part in the Women in Tech NI Promotional Challenge Day

The College Hall was the venue for a fantastic Women in Tech NI Promotional Challenge Day last Friday.

Sponsored by VANRATH, the massive event brought together over 200 students from across North Belfast to highlight the need for more women and girls to choose the technology sector for their careers.

A panel of inspirational female executives and decision-makers already in top tech jobs in Northern Ireland spoke at the event.

The students were arranged into 30 teams of seven and tasked with working together to create a digital asset that promoted women in technology or raised awareness of the need for more girls to make tech a career choice.

The schools attending were St Malachy's College, Belfast Royal Academy, Dominican College Fortwilliam, Belfast Boy's Model, Blessed Trinity, Mercy College and Hazelwood Integrated College.

A big shoutout to table 22, who took home the Best Team award for their engagement, organisation and dedication! 🏆

Many thanks to the North Belfast Digital Hub Foundation, supported by the Belfast Charitable Society, the James Kane Foundation and the Mary Ann McCracken Foundation, for organising and hosting such a wonderful day.
